Arch Acres is located in west/central Indiana in Fountain County. We are mid-way between Attica and Covington near a small community, Fountain and the Portland Arch Nature Preserve. We are 6 miles south of Attica (highway 41 south) or 6 miles north of interstate 74 (Veedersburg & Attica exit) on highway 41 then 4 miles west on County Road 650 North.
In general, 30 minutes east of Danville, IL or 45 minutes SW of Lafayette, In or 60 minutes N of Terre Haute, IN or 60 minutes W of Indianapolis, IN.
Our longhorn sign is at the bottom of a hill - north side of the road. You will see a log home and buildings with green metal roofs. Google "arch acres" or "1290 W 650 N Attica, IN" for directions and a map. See the map on the contact page! We are south of Attica...if google takes you north of Attica it is not right!!!
We first purchased 5 longhorns in 1999 and grew to 70 registered longhorns. Fall of 2019 we are pleased with our big black and white bull and 18 outstanding cows for breeding stock. We have kept our favorites and have sold many heifers this year that we felt had great futures as well.
In 2015 we purchased an outstanding, flashy, beefy black & white bull with over 80 inches of horns (now 85 inches tip to tip) from Ron Jones "SHR Wow's Ace". All we can say is "WOW!" He is a proven producer with great genetics, size, color, and gentle! Wow's heifers quickly sell for breeding stock. 2019 heifers and four bull prospects available!
Other major improvements include bloodlines with daughters from Roundup, JP Rio Grande, Delta Lucky Ace, Fox Chex, Fifty-fifty, and Commander EOT.
Arch Acres' goal is to promote the breed of longhorns. We raise and sell pasture pets, show quality animals, breeding stock, steers and ropers when available. Many new breeders begin with two or three young longhorns. All animals are for sale.
We are lifetime members of both the TLBAA (Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America) and ITLA (International Texas Longhorn Association. We are founding members of the MTLA ( Midwest Texas Longhorn Association), an affiliate of ITLA, based in Indiana founded in 2010. MTLA holds one local show every year.
